Damjan Danilovic

Damjan’s career began at the age of 9, when he joined the Primorac team in his hometown of Kotor. When he was 15, Damjan became a member of Primorac’s first team. He continued to build his career by professionally playing for water polo teams such as Jadran, CN, Marseille, Budvanska rivijera, Acquachiara, CC, Ortigia, Nuoto Catania.

He is a multiple winner of national championships and cups, and has also won the French National Championship in 2008, together with his Marseille teammates. In 2011 in Rome, Damjan participated in Euroleague’s Final six. 

Damjan took part in national team of Montenegro, which won the brightest of the European merits; the gold medal in Malaga in 2008. He is a participant of three world leagues, won the gold medal in Podgorica in 2009, while a year later; he reached a silver medal in Niš. 

With Yugoslavian junior national team in 1999, he won the European Championship in Germany. At the time, the state union of Serbia and Montenegro won the gold medals at the University Games in Izmir, Turkey. Same team won silver medals at the Mediterranean Games in Almeria in 2005.

He is also the first to win the gold medal in the history of Montenegrin water polo in Manchester in 2007, as well as at the University Games in Bangkok the same year. He participated in the European Championship in Zagreb in 2010, and World Championship in Shanghai in 2011.

Damjan is proud to own the most important national decoration in Montenegro, where in 2011 he was awarded the “Order of the Montenegrin flag of first degree” due to special merits contributed to the country.
