Officially the best sportsman in Montenegro in 2009, Vjekoslav Paskovic, started his career in his hometown of Tivat.
He is a member of Montenegrin national team and has won the gold medal in Malaga, Spain in 2008. Vjekoslav took part in the Olympic Games three times along with his national teammates; Beijing in 2008, London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016. He has played 224 games for the national team and scored 172 times.
Together with Primorac water polo club from Kotor, he has won the League of Championships in Rijeka, Croatia in 2009. He has also won the national championships with Budvanska rivijera, as well as with Galatasaray from Turkey. Vjekoslav is currently playing for the team of Brescia in Italy, where the team took part in Euroleague’s Final Six last year. During his career, he also played for Posillipo.
As a member of the junior national team of Serbia and Montenegro, he became a world champion twice; Napoli in 2004 and Argentina in 2005. He took gold medals from three European championships; Bari in 2002, Istanbul in 2003 and Malta in 2004. The team continued the successful streak by winning the gold medal at the University Games in Izmir, Turkey in 2005. Vjekoslav has his senior-team debut at the World league in New York in 2003, as a member of Serbia and Montenegro team.
Together with the national team of Montenegro, he has won the gold medal at the University Games of 2007, and took one silver and one bronze medal from World League championships (Niš 2010 and Chelyabinske 2013). Vjekoslav was a silver medalist at two European championships; Eindhoven in 2012 and Belgrade in 2016.
In 2011, Vjekoslav was awarded with the Order of the Montenegrin flag of first degree, given for special merits contributed to the country.
